Logos are a strange entity - like underpants, most people think they need them, whilst some others do not. Generally they start out all clean and crisp, the owner taking care to look after them, but soon they dont get noticed so much, and unless a conscious effort is made, they can begin to get shabby, uncared for, and worthless.

Over time, depending on the owner's true feelings about a logo's worth - this symbol of a business either flourishes or fades into oblivion.

Some believe a logo is the start and ending point of their 'corporate identity', but nothing could be further from the truth. A logo mark cannot instantly give a business an 'image' - it's just an abstract symbol that requires a properly formed plan to instill meaning over time.

A logo can function as a pure identifier if designed well - but ONLY as an identifier. The true image of a business can only be created and maintained by consistent application of the logo AND more importantly, a comprehensive strategy across the entire business to deliver the desired image to customers.
